How to Book a Self Drive Car on Rent in Chandigarh? Complete Process

Need a car for a weekend away, a business meeting or just one busy day? A self drive car lets you travel on your own schedule, without waiting for anyone.

If you've never rented one before, the process can seem confusing. It isn't. At ODAC24 most bookings are done over a single call or WhatsApp chat. Here is exactly how it works, from choosing a car to getting your deposit back.

Decide when you need the car and when you'll bring it back. Then choose where you want it:

• Pick it up from one of our hubs: Sector 46C in Chandigarh (our head office, Booth No. 119), Mohali Phase 7, Panchkula Sector 5, Zirakpur VIP Road, or Kharar near Chandigarh University.
• Or get it delivered to your home, hotel, the airport or the railway station. Delivery is free; only the driver and fuel costs apply, so please call to confirm.

Think about how many people are going, how much luggage you'll carry and where you're driving:

• City use, one or two people: a hatchback like the Maruti Alto K10 (from ₹1,200/day) or Hyundai i20.
• Highway comfort: a sedan like the Swift Dzire or Honda City.
• Hill trips with a small family: a compact SUV like the Brezza or Creta.
• Five or more people: a 7-seater like the Innova Crysta or Scorpio N.

You'll need:

• A valid driving licence. Any valid licence is fine, with no minimum holding period. Learner's licences are not accepted.
• ID proof such as Aadhaar, passport or voter ID.

The minimum age is 21, or 23 for the Mahindra Thar and the Toyota Fortuner Legender. Our documents guide has the full list.

We'll confirm the car, your dates, the rent and the security deposit. The deposit is ₹5,000 for most cars and higher for premium SUVs, and it is refunded instantly when you return the car.

When you collect the car, or when it's delivered, walk around it with our team:

• Look for scratches and dents, and take photos.
• Check the tyres, lights and wipers.
• Note the fuel level. You'll return the car at the same level.
• Make sure the AC works and the cabin is clean.

This takes five minutes and avoids any confusion later.

A few things to remember while you have the car:

• 200 km per day is included. Extra kilometres cost ₹10–15/km, depending on the car.
• If you're leaving the Tricity, tell us first and share your route.
• If you need more time, tell us at least 2 hours before your return time and we'll extend the booking.
• Our support line is open 24/7 if anything goes wrong.

Bring the car back on time with the same fuel level. Our team does a quick inspection, and your deposit is refunded instantly.

• Cancel 24 hours or more before pickup: 100% refund.
• Cancel within 24 hours: 50% fee.
• After the car has been dispatched: non-refundable.
• Rescheduling is free if you tell us at least 12 hours before pickup.

Can I book a car for today?

Which documents do I need?

A valid driving licence (not a learner's licence) and ID proof such as Aadhaar, passport or voter ID.

Can you deliver the car to my home?

Yes, anywhere in the Tricity, including Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur. Delivery is free; only the driver and fuel costs apply, so please call to confirm.

Is fuel included?

No. Fuel is same-to-same: return the car with the fuel level it had at pickup.
